Re2O with Ultherapy, Thermage or Potenza: Same Day?

They act on different layers, so same-day treatment works. Order and combinations explained.

Why same-day treatment works

Re2O (Elravie Re2O, 리투오, ECM skin booster, hADM skin booster) is a skin booster that injects human dermis-derived extracellular matrix (ECM, the mesh of collagen and elastin inside the skin) into the dermis. It can be combined with lifting devices because each treatment reaches a different depth and works in a different way.

TreatmentMethodMain target layerRole
UltherapyMicro-focused ultrasoundDeep dermis and SMAS (1.5, 3.0, 4.5 mm)Lifting a sagging jawline and cheeks
ThermageMonopolar radiofrequencyHeat across the dermisFirmness and tightening
PotenzaMicroneedle radiofrequencyDermis, adjustable depthPores, scars, texture
Re2OInjectionECM supplied to the dermisSkin density, texture, fine lines

Ultherapy sends ultrasound energy down to the SMAS (the fascial layer that is tightened in a surgical facelift). Thermage and Potenza use radiofrequency heat to prompt collagen renewal in the dermis. All three devices stimulate the skin to make its own collagen. Re2O supplies material instead of stimulation.

How the combination works together

When an energy device signals for collagen production, the cells that make the collagen are the fibroblasts in the dermis. In the study by Lee et al. (2026, International Journal of Molecular Sciences), fibroblasts migrated into the injected Re2O matrix and new collagen formed at the boundary. In the clinical part of the same study (20 adults, followed for 20 weeks), the Re2O side improved more than the hyaluronic acid side in skin density, elasticity, wrinkle depth and pore area. While the devices lift and tighten at depth, Re2O fills in the foundation of the dermis. One pulls on structure and the other supplies material, so their roles do not overlap. No clinical study has yet compared Re2O plus a device directly against either one alone; the explanation above is based on the layer and mechanism of each treatment.

Combinations by concern

  • A sagging jawline with dull, rough texture: Ultherapy and Re2O
  • Overall loss of firmness with fine lines: Thermage and Re2O
  • Pores, shallow scars and rough texture: Potenza and Re2O
  • Deeper sagging, firmness and texture together: Ultherapy and Thermage, with Re2O added

Order and time needed

The rule is that invasive treatments go last. Non-invasive devices such as Ultherapy and Thermage come first, then Potenza, and the Re2O injection is done last. Because Thermage is done first, the ECM injected afterwards is not exposed to the heat of the device. Allow about half a day, including numbing cream time.

Downtime and your travel schedule

Even in combination, most of the visible downtime is the injection marks and swelling from Re2O, which settle within a few days. Ultherapy and Thermage do not break the skin surface. Adding Potenza can mean redness for a few more days.

  • Having the treatment early in your trip lets you check progress before you leave.
  • Avoid saunas, Korean bathhouses, intense exercise and alcohol for 2–3 days afterwards.
  • Use sun protection.

At DIORE

At DIORE, Re2O is often combined with lifting devices on the same day. Each treatment approaches a different layer, so the skin is not overloaded, and the combination suits international patients who need results from a single visit. The combination is decided after examining your skin.

Frequently asked questions

Q1. Can I have Re2O and Ultherapy on the same day?

Yes. Ultherapy acts on the SMAS and deep dermis, and Re2O acts in the dermis. Ultherapy is done first and Re2O follows.

Q2. Does the heat from Thermage reduce the effect of Re2O?

No. Thermage is done first and the Re2O injection last, so the injected Re2O is not exposed to heat.

Q3. Is downtime longer if I combine Re2O with lifting?

Not by much. Ultherapy and Thermage do not damage the skin surface, so visible recovery follows the Re2O injection marks and lasts a few days.

Q4. I am in Korea for only a week. Can I have both lifting and Re2O?

Yes, all in one day. If you have them within your first two days, swelling settles during the rest of your stay and progress can be checked before you leave.

Q5. If I have Re2O, do I need a lifting device as well?

No. If your concerns are only texture, pores and fine lines, Re2O alone is enough. A device is added when there is sagging as well.

Summary

Re2O and lifting devices act on different layers in different ways, so they can be combined on the same day. The combination suits people who want to address sagging and skin quality in one visit.
